photographic bags R&D

Manfrotto designs, manufactures, and distributes a wide range of professional camera and lighting mounts for the photography, video, cinema and entertainment markets.

In 2014, after the acquisition of the Israeli Kata Bags by the group, a fruitful research began in the development and production of professional bags dedicated to photography: in this context started the project of the new R&D centre for bags design and prototyping.

The new unrealized centre is located in a directional building ground floor in the Jerusalem outskirts.

testing labs, daylight and sharing areas

The interest of the project lies in the analysis and layout of the bags’ design and prototyping process.

Through relationships and workflow analysis, we arrived to the detailed definition of the design workspaces, to the development of the meeting and sharing spaces environment, and to the space organization of archives and laboratories.

In the centre of the 1000 sqm office and prototyping area, finds place an articulated common space (share) with function of showroom, meeting and networking area. The quality of this central space is enhanced by the translucent ceiling equipped with a daylight emulating system and by the view axes to the testing and prototyping laboratories.
